THE APPALACHIANS

55 min. excerpt of the PBS documentary series

THE APPALACHIANS is a three-part PBS series that has been shown all over the U.S. to rave reviews. A book by the same name and a DVD were also released.

The story of Appalachia is the story of America: immigration, settlement, the Revolution and the Civil War, the growth of industry and the use and abuse of land. Appalachia has also had a great impact on American culture, and the soundtrack of this series is filled with traditional mountain music. The history and the music offer a fresh perspective on the proud heritage of Appalachian people.

Mari-Lynn Evans is a native of Bulltown, Braxton County and was a guest of the 2004 WVFFF.
